surf fishing?

If any one has any experience with surf fishing in florid please leave a comment to answer my question. My question is what would be the best combo i could buy for florida peir and surf fishing? I really dont want to have to pay hundreds of dollars only maybe 100 to 150. I want to target smaller sharks, larger jack crevalle, huge snook, cobia off of the peir, or any other fish that you cant normally handle with your snook spinning rod. Ive seen some nice combos at sports authority but im scepticle about them. Basicallly im looking for a moderately priced durable conventional fishing rod and reel.

Please Comment i need some advice!!!!!!!!!!

  1. You gotta remember when you are surf fishing you have to get the line out there. From my experience I use a long rod and I put some weight on the line, and will use stronger line also so I can cast it as far as I can.

If the water is clear and calm and there arent many people around is when I surf fish, in florida this can be hard but winter seems to be the best time for me.

What you will need is a decent reel and rod that can cast, a beach chair, some surf rod holders, live shrimp or finger mullet, and a cooler full of beer. Surf fishing requires alot more patience then other types of fishing in my experience. Everyone has a different approach, this has worked for me and I catch fish, if I dont I at least catch a buzz so it is a win win for me :)
