Jug Fishing

jug fishing is a super fun way to fish. I think this is so fun because you can just toss it out in a small lake or pond and leave it for several hours without constantly checking it. Especially the anticipation of seeing if you have a fish is great. This is a fun way to get kids excited about fishing. This way the average kid who doesn't have the patience to sit in the sun for hours holding a rod can just toss this out and go grab it with a canoe or kayak. Basically all you need to do this is a water bottle or 2 liter bottle. One way i saw you can color a clear bottle is take a white or neon spray paint and spray it into the bottle until the insides are colored making the bottle very visible. then screw the top on. Tie 20lb fishing line around the neck of the bottle. Tie a weight to the bottom of the line and a hook to the middle of the line. Then bait it up. A good bait for catfish is chicken liver. Throw it out to the middle of the lake and let it sit for a couple of hours. After you have waited a solid while go back and retrieve the bottle an see if you have a fish. Good luck.
