Panfish how do i catch them?????

Bluegill fishing is widely popular over the United States and Canada because bluegill and other pan fish ca withstand the warm and cold climates of the north and south. Also they are one of the easiest fish to catch. The classic way to catch these fish is slap on a bobber a small hook and a balled up piece of bread. Then you cast it out and wait for the bob. This at least is the traditional method i have always used. But I'm curious ive never done anything else. So this article is asking all you fishermen out their what methods do you use besides the bread and bobber method. Please leave your comments on what kind of lures or what kind of bait. Also i was wondering if anyone has ever used that canned bait Berkley sells. Its sold in neon colors and it has a stench to it. I think they use it for trout but would it work for little pan fish. By the way I'm doing this pan fish fishing in cape cod, Massachusetts. So their will be crappie. So leave comments on this post telling me what bait, what time of day, where to fish, and any other ways to success. I appreciate all the comments in advance. Until next time tight lines.

  1. Bluegills are an absolute blast! Over the years, I have taken thousands of Bluegills with a light weight fly rod and foam spiders or other surface riding bait. I also enjoy catching them with curly tail jigs. Small spinners will work effectively, also. Have fun.

  2. ive always used the bread method but i have experimented with spinners, grubs, minows, and little squid look-a-likes and found that the grubs work the best in white or green colors.
